The Usual Hotel
Bringing warmth and natural materials to The Usual Social Brussel’s bar & lounge. Delighted to have created this textile series of unique pieces ‘Overlaps Trio’ commissioned by Studio Ellie May (London, Uk).
The trio is created from a mixture of leftover yarns in wool, cotton, linen and natural dyes sourced locally. Different yarns and colours were blended together to create a harmonious palette. Beautiful organic patterns emerge which reflect The Usual regenerative shapes.
Handwoven on a manual jacquard loom, Emma’s approach is deliberately slow and considered, applying digital tools to analogue processes without compromising the characteristics of a handmade object.
