Emma Terweduwe is a Belgian textile designer. She graduated in 2019 with a Masters degree in Textile Design at KASK Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent (Belgium). During her studies she did an exchange at Hochschule Luzern für Kunst & Design (2017, Switzerland).
Her work as a designer is mainly focused on jacquard weaving for fashion and interior design. Emma uses natural and durable materials, that are subtle yet expressive. The structure and texture of a fabric are very significant, and so, tactility is what it is all about in her textiles. In that way she criticises our fast and visually driven society, by making textiles that are meant to touch our tactile senses.
She collaborated with TEXTIELLAB Tilburg for the realisation of her jacquard woven pieces.
