Emma Terweduwe (°1996, Belgium) graduated in 2019 with a Masters degree Textile Design at KASK Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent (Belgium). During her studies she did an exchange at Hochschule Luzern für Kunst & Design (2017, Switzerland). Her work as a designer is mainly focused on jacquard weaving and embroidery for fashion and interior design. Emma uses natural and durable materials, that are subtle yet expressive. The structure and texture of a fabric are very significant, and so, tactility is what it is all about in her textiles. In that way she criticises our fast and visually driven society, by making textiles that are meant to touch our tactile senses. Emma was recently nominated for the BILL AWARD 2019 and received the HORLAIT-DAPSENS award by KASK, Ghent for her master collection (2019). She collaborated with TEXTIELLAB Tilburg for the realisation of her master project (2019). She worked at Bless Berlin (2018) and as production assistent with artist Klaas Rommelaere (2018).
