“FLOATS Tapestries" is a collection of 3 delicately jacquard woven tapestries . It is a research into the the use of layers within the jacquard technique. These pieces play with the duality of visual depth and real layers within the jacquard weaves. Both the front and back of the work express each a different kind of tactileness, so your curiosity gets drawn to both of them equally.
Through the use of color, natural and outspoken materials within the jacquard weaving technique allow FLOATS to become a series of tapestries with great tactile and organic aspects. The combination of different materials, including the linen floating threads on a graphic wool and cotton background, give a very unique and tactile feeling to the tapestries.
